Semantics. We're not talking about sprinters or decathletes. Its not about pure ability. We're talking about soccer players. The U.S produces supreme players, see my aforementioned list, but our best athletes are not playing soccer. Drew Brees is a qb, Chris Paul is a point guard, and Lebron James plays 1-4 for a basketball team. Besides Altidore, not one soccer player in America possesses the ownership of their respective sports as the ATHLETES I just mentioned.

This is true. Nobody has ever argued otherwise.
However, your assertion that lack of athleticism amongst soccer players is our problem is still absurd.
