The Crazy Horse stuff is good, but Neil might be the most overrated guitarist of all time. He's really not that good. His later songwriter-y stuff is a lot better, imo

His tone ("Hey Hey My My" is a good example) is so influntial to the entire alternative movement, especially (and obviously) grunge.
Also, the two aforementioned guitar workouts on Everybody Knows This is Nowhere are pretty damn good, as well as his duel with Stephen Stills on the "Southern Man" from 4 Way Street .
