(sorry, I just HAD to work that in at least one more time!)

I'm told by locals up there that most of the small game in Alaska could easily be taken with a .22LR IF you can get close enough to them. There's also the issue of wind, which apparently the .17 WSM handles like a boss. If the ammo is cheaper than other .17 calibers and .22 Mag, then this new .17 WSM may fill an actual need.

and the 17wsm is not cheaper. its $15 a box. But still cheaper than any smaller caliber centerfire. what type of small game you talkn bout in alaska
