Guess that might work out well for you if you have a 9 AM start on the East Coast or something
For those of us that start work around 6 AM it would be pretty asinine to get up at 3 in the morning
Central time zone, at work at 7:30 every morning. I get up at 4:00 AM and go to the gym. Home at 5:45, coffee/news/breakfast for 20 minutes, then the my wife and son get up and the day starts. I don't get off work until 5:00 - 5:30 though. For me, the getting up that early is driven more by the time I get off work than it is the time I go in.

Right. You're getting up early to hit the gym and you leave time to spare to eat. Nothing unusual about that behavior. Some people work out in the afternoon so they don't need to budget that much time before work.
