That would require reading words like "acceptable" and inoffensive literally, and not like someone who needs effusive love professed to feel adequate, or has an agenda to work through regardless of facts, or will actually read something, much less allow it to be considered.
The guy is using the jerseys to talk about collaborative projects not taking the best ideas from a group but merely resulting in the average. He ignore some key points, but that is what he is saying.
The jerseys are the bullets, not the target.
