I was hesitant when I first bought the skinner version. After having it for one hunting season I ordered this one for a more versatile knife other than the traditional skinning knife. I can tell you that if I were to lose it I would buy another,
The kydex sheath is the cats arse too!
Horizontal carry is way better than vertical IMO.

Check out Confederate Forge on facebook. They are making some nice knives in that price range.
Got this last year. It does well, but I still prefer working with a folder when skinning a deer. I've been developing a little bit of a knife fetish lately. As soon as I'm done building this house and buying furniture I'm probably gonna try to pick up a really nice fixed blade.
