10 ways to know you are an LSU fan
quote:

7. Les Miles Makes You Both Confident and Nervous

Thus, when Miles is in the driver seat, Tiger fans are both confident that a championship-caliber team will take the field and nervous that Miles might screw it up in the end.

I'd like to tell the BR idiots:
And out of 106 total games he has coached, how many has Miles personally "screwed up at the end ??????"

-Tennessee '05? No. OT game that our defense collapsed in at end. Conservative offense maybe.

-Kentucky '07? No. Maybe a questionable call to run up the middle on 4th and 2 in 3 OTs.

-Arkansas '07? No. Defense had blown coverage on 4th and 10 in regulation, and in triple OT.

-Auburn '07? No. If Flynn pass to Byrd is not caught, still :03 left to kick winning FG.
And Flynn let 5 seconds run off before snap!

-Alabama '08? No. After blocking Shama FG in OT, JLee throws INT in Shama end zone.

- At Arkansas '08? No. Rahim Alem kicks ball, resulting penalty hurts field position.

- At Ole Miss '09?. No. All on JJ. His only 2 choices were to take the snap and run or throw to end zone (no timeouts left, official was set to wind arm to start clock). Miles was NOT telling JJ to 'clock' it, he was telling the official ball was down.
Plus, JJ's Hail Mary pass reached only to OM 5.

- Penn State '09? MAYBE. Miles let some time run off before calling time out that we could have used on last possession, HOWEVER, the officials called a personal foul on LSU OL trying to pull Penn State defender off LSU ball carrier -as the clock was running out.

- Tennessee '10? YES. This game was almost lost because of indecision, time management, and JJ not getting the snap. Of course it all turned out moot because Dooley had sent 14 players out on the field for Tennessee, and LSU won. :)

- Alabama '12? Not really clock managment, just unfortunate 'what-if' situations. If Alleman makes the FG, we're up 20-14 and more time runs off, Bama may start deep in own territory.
OR, if Miles had gone for one more first down, we do 3 kneel-downs.
Of course our defense let us down at the end too.

So there was defeinitely 1 game that Miles "screwed up at the end" - Tennessee in '10,
which we WON.
The other possible one was the '09 Penn State game when he let some time run off.

At the most, Miles has lost 1 game due to his clock management - Penn State - Capital One Bowl in '09.....
