That's really not bad at all. Gotta remember, he was just 18 going into pro ball. People often start in Rookie League and work their way up from there, not sure if that's the case with him though. So logical progression means that AA ball at age 22 or 23 really is actually pretty good. And with a 3.23 ERA, nonetheless. Bottom line, being in AA at age 23 and pitching (seemingly) pretty well is in no way an indicator that his days in baseball may be dwindling.

AA after 4 years is awesome. The next step from there is MLB. AAA isn't for new players. It's usually players being sent down, not getting called up.
But above all that. He was a good high school QB. Almost every QB we have had since then and several before we're higher rated. LSU was really bad with Jefferson so people wanted to believe he was some savior of the program. But in reality he was as equal to Jarrett Lee or any other QB we have signed in recent years. So lets drop it and focus on the people who actually play here.
