quote:4 carries for 26 yards against MSU isn't exactly "best player" material. Against Georgia he had carries of 3, 2, 6, 3, and 2 with a fumble self-recovered thrown in. He had one run of 18 yards that inflated his stats in that game. On the other hand, Charles Scott ran for 95 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries.
he was our best player against MSU and UGA as a freshman in the first half, as a running back, then was benched the entire 2nd half of both games.
RS made some good plays. But, he was not a consistent RB. He couldn't pass block and was limited in his effectiveness if he didn't get space.

did you watch the game? We ran for 30 yards. He was the only player that moved the ball for us in the 1st half. He was our leading rusher, and yet we benched him in the 2nd half for a more productive 2 ypc

it wasn't a fumble.

Once again, did you watch the game? Charles Scott's stats weren't inflated with a long run? : Also, Scott played well in the 2nd half. Doesn't mean you take out a productive player and give him zero carries (like Scott vs. UK)

hard to be consistent when you are benched after playing well. He averaged 6.2, 7.1, 7.4, and 8.1 ypc yet saw his carries drop almost every year. i'm not saying make him a featured back, but he is a great change of pace player who should have been used more out of the backfield the way the saints used reggie in 2006.
