PP7 was still and still is vastly superior in coverage. TM gave up way more than pp7 ever did. Dont get me wrong, loved both these tigers. But Tyrann isnt in the same level as Peterson. And its not because size, its just Petersons natural ability is better than most.

I think Mathieu could have improved on his coverage skills with another year. Thing is, he's more of a short Polomalu. He's a playmaker and more of a safety than a corner. He could play nickel corner though during obvious pass plays.

Vastly overestimated belief. Mathieu was not the liability in coverage people make him out to be and Peterson wasn't that much better than him. You're trying to make it seem like Peterson has a doctorate degree and Mathieu has a GED. While Peterson is better, he's not vastly superior over Mathieu. If Mathieu was 6 foot 220 pounds like Peterson we wouldn't even have this debate. That's how good Mathieu is.

This is a myth that will never die. TM7 was brilliant in coverage. The two things that make PP7 better are height and top end speed. TM7 is just as strong and a little quicker.

Definitely TM7 gave up more completions than PP7, but you have to factor in that a considerable number of the times they completed a pass against him TM7 took the ball away from the receiver.
