Won't happen. They are basically waiting on a donation or all other projects to finish first before they address the issue. Asbestos abatement cost will be very high before any remodeling can be done. Think 2020 at earliest.

it'll cost too much to remove all the asbestos

i still say they should do it. turn it into a hotel during football season. they'd make their money back in no time

As far as for dorms I doubt it, but that was one of the benefits of redoing all the windows. If they would have gutting the interior and remodeled the rooms would have still be exposed to the elements b/c of how terrible those windows and seals were. I have here they are going to go through and gut and replace small sections at a time, slow process but they do have a lot on their plate right now

My dad lived in North Stadium back in the early 70's.

He said the living conditions were terrible.

I've always thought a great idea would be to convert them to tailgate suites and rent them out per game. No season pass or membership, but rather everyone got a shot at them. TVs, BYOB, a/c...another great money making idea

I don't think it will ever happen.

With all of the security concerns surrounding big events, allowing people to just bring suitcases into the stadium just isn't practical. Way too much chance of a bad guy getting a bad idea.

Also, with all of the set back from the stadium that the new gates provide, it would become a nightmare to create separate lanes for those going to the game and those going to the suites. Of course, you could make it so that once you are inside the perimeter, you could go to either, but I don't think that is practical either since a lot of people will want to walk around the campus once they get settled in their room.

In theory, it's a great idea. It just isn't going to be worth the effort.

Not as dorm rooms, but as game day apartments or hotel-room type suites, yes.

The problem is, as another poster has already explained, there is a serious asbestos issue with remodeling the rooms. Very expensive.

The use them for storage i know a guy who got a tour, and I really want one. They've knocked down most of the walls and opened them up and there's sooooo much shite down there they need for home games.
