no, it starts with fairly pricing digital games.

I'm sorry but once again the fact that they charge full price for digital copies is just wrong.

Games went from carts to CDs b/c it made it cheaper for everyone. No longer did you have to worry about paying $90 for a mega cart.

Going from disk to digital should do the exact same thing yet they have resisted it.

Also, its still going to be hard for people to justify downloading all their games when Sony and Microsoft are such a-holes about the prices for higher capacity hard drives.

I can get a 3 terabyte hard drive for $100 but going from an XBox 4gb to a 250gb is a $80 increase in price! (not to mention that complete lame arse move of still charging $50 for a WiFi adapter that should have been included in every f-ing machine from the get go)

No normal hard drives work on consoles? I never had to try.

I don't understand why you think they can take that sort of hit while also competing against their very own products in the used games market. Used games are a billion dollar industry for Gamestop alone. That's not taking into consideration the other retailers that all deal used games.

How many devs and publishers do you think can fight that and at the same time knock substantial cost off their games digitally and still come out profitable?

Activision has the most operating cash out of anyone and I read just yesterday even that is only at $400 million. Yea $400 million sounds like a lot but their parent company has $600 million in debts. You want them to hang around but you also want them to compete with a billion dollar used games market while offering you discounted new copies? First party license is the only way they make money off of a game besides excessive DLC which is another thing people bitch about.

The thing is that gaming consumers want their cake and to eat it too but then when another THQ happens and they get even shittier products due to less competition they want to bitch about it all being the devs and publishers faults.

It's a no win for anyone in it's current form and the consumer ultimately loses the most it's just that many are too short sighted to see it.
