Finished year 2 not long ago.
I decided to start A. Jennings over Rivers because of his speed. Rivers was rated in the lower/mid 90's and Jennings in the mid 80's. I got off to a somewhat slow start with Jennings, but didn't drop any games. Once I got the hang of the read option I became a pretty dominant offense. J. Hill went down for the season pretty early, but Hillard stepped in nicely. My offense went from middle of the pack in my first year to pretty highly ranked in year 2.
My defense was dominant again in year 2. I didn't have as good of a year with Rasco, but he still tore stuff up. My defense was near the top of the nation again in year 2.
I had some tough games against Bama, Florida and Texas A&M but ended my season undefeated. I had been hoping to get my rematch with Texas in the national championship again (because they punished me in year 1), and luck fell right into my plate and I ended up playing them. It was a pretty good game, but I was never in doubt of losing it.
I started to get the hang of recruiting and ended up with the #1 overall class. I only signed 21 players, but it beat the hell out of my first year of recruiting.
In normal LSU fashion I pretty much just reloaded. I lost nearly my entire defense and offensive line, but am still pretty solid with the guys who stepped in. My secondary on defense is SICK!!!
Offensively Rivers is rated in the high 90's now, but I'm still going with Jennings. He gives me the ability to pass and run the read option. If I can get him to stick around all 4 seasons there is no doubt I will win a heisman with him before it's over.
I beefed up my schedule a good bit this year in OOC games, so it should be an interesting year in my quest to repeat.

my first game vs TCU, the opening kick R Robinson took one to the house for 97 yards.
Brazil had two PR touch downs and Robinson had two picks, one for 6.
didn't do much on offense because of the absurd special teams play that game.

how many did you sign during the regular season and how many in the off-season?
I've been playing as DC for Georgia State, and like another poster stated, I have to basically add guys to my board from adjoining states then i see which ones have the best bonuses to keep and go after. I'm also Les Miles and yeah, it really took the first year of screwing up recruiting to understand it. Think this second season is about fine tuning and then hopefully be ok for third season.
I find D is a biiiaatttcchhhh, especially with a shite team. When I finally get stops and third and long, the DBs leave 1 guy uncovered for an easy conversion. I also have a monster of a time trying to get my D player off of a block. I try using the right stick for the moves but nothing is consistent. In the old games you could use the left stick and pull back away from the blocker and get off the block.
I really haven't enjoyed this game as much, but still play for the challenge and hope that i'll improve on it. My Georgia State team improved with ratings from year 1 to year 2, but my record is worse (halfway through season). Seems like my O can never do a damn thing.
Will the CPU do any recruiting for you like past games if you don't allocate all points? I've been recruiting the whole class as the DC and wondererd if i need to just choose my D players to go after.
I wanted to turn the 1* school into a power, so i didn't leave for other DC opportunities after season 1. Hoped to stay an be promoted from within. Is it best to take the better job at higher position as a OC/DC to improve the coach then come back to small school as HC?
