Yeah, I'm really interested to read that too.

I don't think it's so much what Zusi provides on the wing that FJ does not. I think it's more what you give up by not having FJ at left back. In other words, Zusi on the wing + FJ at left back >>> FJ on the wing and Beasley at left back.
Beasley has played well there lately, but FJ is the far better option at left back. Plus, with Donovan or Dempsey on the left wing, they will naturally tend to drift inside. We've seen how good FJ is on the overlap. Also, neither Donovan nor Dempsey on the left wing is going to provide a ton of help to the left back defensively. I feel a whole hell of a lot more comfortable with FJ in that spot as opposed to Beasley.

quote:Zusi is a level headed, very technical player who reads the game well and busts his arse on the defensive end. That being said, FJ is a better natural athlete and is superior in the 1v1 situations. I love the constant service that Zusi provides on the right wing, and he rarely turns the ball over, something that I feel FJ can be prone to at times. Zusi is also a legit threat on goal from 35+ yards out and a great set piece taker, FJ is not.
Can y'all tell me what Zusi provides on the wing that Fabian does not?
My biggest reason for wanting Donovan and Zusi on the wings is this: Imho I think FJ is far too valuable to us at LB, he can come upfield and overlap all day long, and isn't a defensive liability like DMB is. I think we can have the same offensive prowess that we've been having even with FJ at LB, we won't be sacrificing anything because we have capable guys other than him. I know it may be murky now, but the thought of FJ and Timmy Chandler blazing down the touchlines on overlapping runs makes me oh so excited.
