I'd bet The Heights (esp now that Hispanics are now white-Hispanics) is whiter than RO.

When the hell did the heights get on par with river oaks? Even west university is more expensive per sq ft but they don't have the sprawling estates of river oaks. There aren't a plethora of $5M+ homes in the heights.

And yes there are very few blacks in either river oaks or west university, ask any person who lives there

Try reading. I said "whiter" not more expensive. Sheesh.

If I was a protestor I would go to Bellaire instead of River Oaks.

Maybe they can case the neighborhood while protesting and kill two birds with one stone.

It's obvious that this guy and all of the race hustlers are using this event as a means to reclaim significance and the financial boost that comes with it. They are fomenting further racial unrest in the hopes of conflict producing yet another martyr for their cause...equali...no, money.

If we would all just point and laugh (and then, ignore them) it would be over.

Or, once the COUNTER movement gets bigger than the original protest, it will stop.

Until it is met with greater passion or laughed at and ignored..it will be this way.

Silliness

I would imagine if all the businesses in the area closed and everyone just stayed in their homes, they would get bored pretty quickly and leave.

have you seen urban beach week in galveston? When the proud and glorious black community of texas descends upon galveston....all the businesses not desperate for money shut down and leave it is hilarious.

ignore them

What needs to happen.

shite they want to be treated equally. Just ignore them like the 99% of people we see and ignore outside our homes.

Obviously they won't, but a 10x more effective counter protest would be for the RO people to just go about there day like it was any other day.

I have not witnessed that before. It is my understanding that this very thing happens in NOLA during Essence and the Bayou Classic.

Shouldn't people be protesting in...Florida? Even if I agreed with the protests, other than sheer laziness why protest a jury's decision 5 states away?

Exactly. They protest 5 states away in a community that had exactly NOTHING to do with what happened to either Trayvon Martin or in the resulting trial.

How exactly is an affluent neighborhood or the people that live in that neighborhood in Houston, TX responsible for what happened in a middle class neighborhood in Sanford, FL? They aren't. At all.

And it is quite presumptive to think that everyone that lives in that neighborhood supports George Zimmerman (presumably because they are presumed to all be white) or even gives a shite about the outcome of the case at all. I guess no rich black people live in this neighborhood or people that agree with them? At best, this all is very misplaced. At worst, these people are all idiots hoping that something reactionary happens.
