It may be read like a credit account.. Where a balance is how much you owe. A negative balance would be what you would have prior to refund clearing it out.


Now if its read like a bank statement then its the opposite.

No way in hell I'm paying down the national debt. I live by a budget and pay my own bills, use my own insurance, and take care of my own family and now I'm going to pay off everyone else's bad decisions with money? Ssshhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt

Is the national debt in the trillions (I checked, it's just under $17 T)? You could pay down the debt and not so much as feel it.

Yeah you'd be left with about 91.8 quadrillion in credits. I'd have to imagine that's be enough to buy the earth and all it's contents a couple times over.
