But that would mean your "starters" (2nd string talent) is playing against the opposing teams starters (1st string talent).

You can't play guys 48 minutes and there is only one ball to go around. If you have Holiday/Gordon/Evans on the floor together at the same time at least one of them is likely going to waste each possession. In crunch time this waste is acceptable because you want to maximize your options to make sure you can score when you have to. Throughout the rest of the game you are taking shots away from a starting level player and giving them to a 2nd string level player. If you spread your "starting talent" out then you have starters taking shots all game and fewer bench players taking shots away from starters.

Thank you. That actually makes sense. The whole "not enough ball to go around" argument.

Like Keshawn....just give me the damn ball.

TigerinATL summed it up nicely. Another reason in our case is that of our 5 best players, 2 are SG's and 2 are PFs. I know traditional positions are going to the wayside these days, but like it was said everyone can only play 22-30 minutes a night and it makes more sense to have them in their natural positions that maximize their advantage against the opponent.

I like the premise just curious how all these guys "gel" together. IMO this will probably take 10 or so games at least to get the kinks out.

As far as Aminu as a starter, I am starting to feel that as long as we have 2 of EG/JH/Evans and at least 1 big who can knock down a 15 ftr on the floor with him then he can really focus on what he excels at (Defense, transition, Off/Def RBs).

We have 3 bigs who can knock down open jumpers over 15' in Davis, Smith, and Anderson (obviously Ryno extends all the way to 3 pt line) so IMO 1 of those will be on the floor at all times which will keep the lane open for Tyreke, EG, and Holiday who really can attack the rim.
