I just don't like yards against per game because it punishes teams with quick strike offenses, and benefits teams that use extreme running ball control.

this has really be a factor for the Saints defense over the years I think. Probably not the biggest one but one that doesn't get mentioned enough IMO.

oh, by the way the Saints average on defense in PPG over the last 6 games from 2012??? 30 points

that is nuts to think the Saints defense and 49ers defense were so close in that category.

I remember back in 2010 when the Saints defense was pretty stout for several weeks and then after the bye week, they started to struggle. There were only a few times where I felt like they just out right got the best of somebody and that was the second Falcons game in ATL after the bye week. Maybe you could say the Rams game too though I guess, they beat them pretty good that year.

I know statistically we were pretty good that year but I was nervous as shite as they went into the playoffs. There were injuries on our defense and Seattle had no problems moving the ball on us in the Dome the first time we had played them that year.

it is getting tougher for me to buy into some stats defensively now. This league is mostly dominated by offense now.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but the same with the Patriots. They've actually been averaging 10-15 in PPG the last couple of years, but people just see the yardage and shite bricks.

Justin Smith, along with Geno Atkins, are so criminally underrated.

I'd argue it's dominated by health going into the playoffs. If Gronk is healthy, the Patriots win at least one of the last two Super Bowls.

The counter argument would be Ladarius Webb was injured and is close, if not in, the top tier of CBs.
