So what do you suppose LSU should do in the world of college football to "earn" respect?

I think the bengals have earned much respect for being an SEC powerhouse, but to reach the higher echelon of respect, we have to stop beating inferior teams by minuscule amounts and blowing games against inferior teams.

That's by your definition. Most rational folks say respect is all in the w's and l's. it seems that to some LSU fans we just don't win "correctly". Not pretty enough. One day, and I hope it's not soon, we'll all look back on these years and realize "what were we thinking?" These are the golden years of LSU football. Enjoy them. They won't be here forever.

I don't think you have an accurate view on how the rest of the country sees LSU. I've lived in the northeast, California, and Florida. LSU is generally seen as one of the top few programs in the country.

Looking forward to a great year! Yes we lost some talent, a lot of talent, but its not like we don't have talent returning. As much as it pains me to say this, last years team seemed uninspired at times. With the feeling of intitlement gone, that shouldn't be an issue this year. Looking for lots if life out of this team. Talent will be there.

This happens at every program. Literally every single one.

the only way to get respect is to beat bama. The loss to Clemson started the latest round of disrespect. That game impressed no one.Do you remember the Ole Miss game? Just as bad, losing to bama in the last 60 seconds. I fully understand where the media is coming from. A&M's body of work was much more impressive, even though we beat them. We got them early in the season. They would have SFCK us if we had played them around thanksgiving.
