Agreed, but he was helped by some of the worst defending that I've ever seen.

How do people in Spain feel about him?

There's a movement to get Jese to start over him.

Typical knee-jerk reactions. All things considered, Bale has done very well.

Jese's time will come, and stylistically, I'm not sure that it's a one-to-one replacement, anyway.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the team says they´ve had a 10, as far as 2014 goes. Article also mentions, ´questions of the quality of play, apart´, with which I damned sure agree.

We all knew this was to be for 2014-15, but hey, I´m glad to see where they´re at, at this point.

Bayern de Múnich is still THE team.

ETA Sorry, this was gleaned from a Marca article, which had no English translation.

Oh, to see that impollute white on top of the world again. Ramos, get your shite together.

ETA 2 Ramos is no Hierro, and the fricker wears the captain´s band. May God take us, having already confessed......

Bale interview in As.

quote:

“I feel comfortable playing out on the right wing. I have played in that position for Tottenham and Wales,” said Gareth Bale on Thursday as he attended reporters after a promotional event in Madrid.

The league title race: “We’re in a good position but we will need to win all of our remaining matches to reach our objective. We have an advantage but there are 11 games left to play. If we continue to play well, we won’t have to worry about the other teams”.

Life in Madrid: “It’s taken me a while to get used to the city and the team. Now I’m enjoying my football and especially the weather”.

The Champions League: “Our objective is to win the Champions League but we need to take it one game at a time; with a little luck we might be able to win it”.

Favourites: “All of the teams left in the competition have the potential to win it. There are some very strong rivals left but no favourites; it’s very open”.

Winning the treble: “We’re still alive in all three competitions and we have a chance of being able to win all three but we have to take each game as it comes”.

The Spanish league: “I’ve been quite surprised by the tactical side of it. Spanish sides don’t tend to play long balls up-field; it’s more about possession, slipping your marker and movement off the ball. That’s what makes the Spanish league interesting for me because it requires a high level”.

Not being able to train pre-season: “Obviously it’s something which I regret. Being able to complete the pre-season is important for any player. I’ve trained hard and now I am in top form. I hope I can maintain it during this decisive part of the season”.

Personal marks out of 10: “I wouldn’t know what to give myself, but I’m happy with how it’s going. I’ve improved a lot and I feel good and I’ve still got margin for improvement”.

Playing on the right wing: “Last season with Tottenham I didn’t play as much on the left, I was playing more down the middle or on the right – like with Wales. I feel comfortable playing on the right wing, I’m happy there”.

Help in settling in: “Luka Modric, who I was with at Tottenham, really helped me a lot at the beginning; he’s a great team mate and gave me a lot of advice. He’s also improved a lot too – he’s a world class player. He’s matured and is playing to an extraordinary level”.

Marcelo Now RM´s Fourth Winningest Foreigner

The Brazilian recorded his 139th victory against Málaga and overtook Hugo Sánchez; the winger is behind Roberto Carlos, Di Stéfano and Santamaría.

With their win against Málaga at La Rosaleda, Marcelo reached 139 victories in the Spanish Liga and overtook Hugo Sánchez. The Brazilian is now among the four foreigners who have won the most Primera División matches with Real Madrid. The next legend he could catch up with is Santamaría, who managed 161 victories. Roberto Carlos and Di Stéfano are first and second in the list.

Marcelo is playing in his eighth season at the club, a career that puts his name in the Madrid history books. The season when he earned the most victories was 2009/10, with 28. In total, he has played in 191 Liga matches in which he has scored 15 goals. His record in the Primera División with Real Madrid includes three championships.
