movies, generally speaking, have to either educate the public on a character/plot or rely on a big name expensive star to sell a movie.
super hero movies don't because the public is already educated on the character, they know what the character is and generally what his/her motivations are. thats a much easier sell.


all hollywood cares about is making money. super hero movies are much more likely to turn a profit.
