The Houston Rockets have been openly shopping forward Thomas Robinson in an effort to clear more cap space for a run at Dwight Howard and have been confident that they will shed Robinson's contract by Thursday night.

Houston is looking to move Robinson to a team that can absorb his salary (either because it is under the cap or possesses the requisite trade exception) and get back a first-round pick in return. And two teams appear to have emerged as serious suitors: Cleveland and Chicago. Sources close to the situation say both teams would be willing to give up a first-round pick in this draft to land Robinson, who went No. 5 overall in the 2012 draft.

The Cavs, though, have also been linked to a potential trade with Dallas for Shawn Marion and the 13th pick that could cost them the second of their two first-round picks, No. 19 overall. They've also made an unsuccessful run at Minnesota's Kevin Love and continue to send signals that they want to make a "big" trade this week. But if Cleveland doesn't need No. 19 for one of those transactions, look for them to try to acquire Robinson from the Rockets.

Sources say that the Bulls, meanwhile, also covet Robinson and are offering the 20th pick. Chicago doesn't have cap space to absorb Robinson's contract but does possess a trade exception that Robinson could slide into. If the Bulls do acquire Robinson, word is they intend to flip him to another team in a subsequent (or connected) deal.

Also, Lamarcus Aldridge of the Blazers is reportedly on the trading block and wants to go to the Bulls.

Bulls fans often to point to the 2006 draft-night trade of Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas as one of the team's biggest mistakes. It helped set the stage for lottery night 2008, so there's not much point in second-guessing now.

Word is, Aldridge wants to escape from Portland's rebuilding project and has made it known that he'd like to land in Chicago.

Deng for Aldridge won't get it done. The Blazers want Joakim Noah in return and the Bulls don't want to give up the superior defensive big man.

Here's one way to get Portland's attention: Offer Deng and Charlotte's future No. 1 pick. The Bulls are counting on that Bobcats' pick (acquired for Thomas, ironically), to pay off big, because it's unprotected in 2016.

I don't know much about Thomas Robinson since he was drafted. Guess I'll trust them.

As far as Aldridge goes, ummm...yes please.

edit: just saw Deng AND Noah....nevermind

Well seeing as though he's being shipped and shopped as much as he is, I'm leaning more to this assumption too

This is where it becomes a little crazy in that regard. Deng for Aldridge makes no sense because Portland already has Batum.

The Bulls aren't giving up Noah in any deal unless it gets Kevin Love or Lebron (which isn't happening).

I'd figure Boozer/Charlotte pick/Gibson would be most likely used in a deal for Aldridge. I'd see Butler in that as well, but not as likely going because of the season he just had.

Would love if the Rockets could somehow throw Royce White into the deal.

Yes it does. If the Bulls get Robinson, they exercise the TPE on him (from the Korver trade to Atlanta) and flip him to another team in a larger deal.

I don't remember the Bulls being involved in this many rumors before draft night in quite some time.

Should be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

I wish, but the trade being discussed is that Noah would be in the trade. Which is what I don't want to happen. Boozer yes...Noah no

Typically, if you covet someone that means you want them on your team.

I get the feeling that Chicago, Houston, and Portland/Charlotte/Cleveland are gonna be involved in a huge 3 way deal in the next 24 hours.

I'd say drafting Chandler and Curry was a bigger fail...but I guess that draft sucked for the most part anyway

You'd think because he is really athletic and was such a high pick that he'd be good... But he's just not. He is a terrible basketball player.

He's undersized and has no skills. His only strength is supposed to be rebounding.
