Could they not use the original "Superman" theme even in the credits? Would have been the only thing that would have held up from the originals. Williams did both right?

Honestly, like Burton's Batman theme, it wouldn't have worked here. They're both incredibly iconic, but neither fit the tone of their changed universes.

I love the original score but the music was perfect for this movie.
I just got out of man of steel and it was far better than I expected. He had no choice but to kill Zod. I have no problem with it. My only problem is Jonathan kent dying to save a dog. That was ridiculous. Overall though I loved the movie. I also think it's a great setup for more of Clark kent / superman duality in the next movie.
