Saban was quoted in 2000 as saying Booty practiced so much better than Davey and that's why he got the starts.

But Ro always played better in the games. Guess he had an extra gear with adrenaline.

I'll never forget the 2000 Peach Bowl when we were dead to rights against Ga Tech. Down 14-3 at half IIRC and came back to win 28-14. Ro came in at half and played lights out, Josh Reed stepped up, defense was great, and Winey took the cast off his broken hand and was vital. Of course I drink too much and maybe some of that info is a little hazy. :)

Whiney miraculously cured at halftime of Peach Bowl pretty much sums it up and capped off that era.

I was 10 that season, though i had been going to game most of my life the 2000 season was the first year i understood what was going on. I was on team Rohan all year, it was clear he made the team better. Booty was a chump.

Josh Reed made 2 incredible plays back to back -
(1) A TD catch in the back of the end zone while dragging his toenail inside the chalk - just before his elbow hit the ground out of bounds.
(2) The 2 point conversion catch and run where he ran over three GT guys to get in the end zone.

Also, a big example of the Booty 'me first' attitude was in I think '99 when LSU was in postion to beat Bama and Booty tried to run it in from the Bama 2 near the end of the game, when he had 2 LSU receivers wide open in the back of the end zone.....

Nailed it. However, I was also buzzed during the game, which may explain why our recollections are synchronized.

I was watching that game with a bunch of ECA alum who were tight with the Bootys. When Rohan finally went in, me and a couple friends started high fiving and going crazy. They didn't like that at all and the rest of the game was really awkward.
