Heat only have a 3M mid level exception and will be paying MASSIVE luxury taxes the next two years.
In fact, Lebatard was saying on the radio today Micky Erickson (Heat owner) is losing money and will take a bath the next two years. Erickson said he didn't care though when Lebatard asked him just how much he is willing to lose to make Miami happy. He is a billionaire and one one of the wealthiest men in the world after all.
So, they will do what they can, but will be severely limited. Good chance they let Mike Miller go so they can actually do something though.

He's not losing any money, and if he is...doesn't matter in the NBA.
Why do you think a group of investors was willing to pony up $500 million for the Kings, and were even willing to spend another $400 million on a stadium? And, that was without public funding. Most NBA team stadiums are publicly funded.
Why would a group of investors want to spend that kind of money on a team to "lose" $20-$30 mil every year?
It's accounting, bruh. Roster depreciation. Purchase price ammortization, etc. etc.
