Conan Doyle had two friends that were gay. He tried to convince both that it was a mental illness and that they should probably get help in a mental institute. So yeah RD Jr, obviously he wanted his two main characters to be gay

Maybe so, but why even say it if you don't mean it. I'm a big Sherlock/Conan Doyle fan, so it aggravated me. God forbid, If there ain't something gay these days then your show sucks and you hate gays. Those movies were gay so they got that covered.
