Yep. Had Ray Allen missed that shot at the end of game 6, we hear about how Lebron is a choker. Now we hear about how great he was just because of a shot his teammate made

You realize he also hit a 3 in game 6 to send it to that overtime..

Using championships as a barometer for judging players is a highly flawed exercise. Which is why I don't do it.

And neither should you.

I made this argument a couple years back when people were saying that Dirk would be top 10 if he won but only top 25 if he lost.

Similarly, does Jim Kelly magically become a better QB if Norwood hits a 47 yard FG?

Does Brady become worse if John Kasay can kick off in bounds?

I agree 100%

But when he gets to 7, it won't matter either way

Shooting percentage at what? Duck hunting? Golden Tee? Because if you're referring to shooting percentage in the sport of basketball, then you are respectfully invited to remind me what season MJ shot 57% from the floor? I eagerly await the results of your research.

Pretty sure he was talking about basketball and for their careers, yes MJ has a better shooting percentage. Not sure why we would limit the comparison to 1 season.

Jordan has a higher career field goal percentage, champ. Why are you selectively limiting data? Looking at their whole bodies of work. Maybe Lebron will pass him eventually, but he will suffer the late career decline in fgp like everyone else ever.

If we are only looking at every player at their best, then I guess Jeremy Lin is one of the best players in the game.

Not sure why a person who hadn't had recently had a lobotomy go all kinds of wrong would make a comment about MJ's shooting percentage setting him apart from Lebron, when MJ (a) never came close to shooting as well as Lebron did this year, (b) has a career shooting percentage that will remain higher than Lebron's for only about 30 more of Lebron's games, after which point it will always always be worse.

But, hey, great post.

I already answered your questions. Respond to the above post.

He'll pass him in less than half a season.

MJ's peaked in year 7.
LBJ's is trending upward in year 10.

So it could be that you're wrong.

How about you show us how smart you are and explain why you think I'm an idiot.

Let me rephrase: if, after reading the factual data that I have presented, you still believe that MJ's career shooting percentage is a solid argument for why he's better at basketball than LBJ, then you aren't just a fricking idiot, you're Corky from Life Goes On.

Tell Jared Leto I said hello.

No, just no. Assuming Lebron matches his career high in FG% next year on the same amount of shots, he will not pass Jordan at all next season. He'll be at .4965 to MJ's .4968
You should probably work on some simple division, brah.

Ha! I'm actually glad you ran the numbers. I was eyeballing it.

Okay, so he'll pass him in 85 games. My point remains the same.

Maybe Parker is a HOFer but I'm not holding my breath who's the 3rd HOF on the Spurs? Not Manu

exactly Lebron is a great player but he won because he has 3 future HOFers they shouldve won
so bosh is an easy, slam dunk HOFer, and Manu isn't? Nice try.

Besides, using the HOF argument is stupid. THEY LET EVERYONE IN THE BASKETBALL HOF. INCLUDING REFEREES. They let rural high school coaches in. Since there's no NBA HOF, it's just a general basketball one, its completely watered down and a real shitbag metric when comparing teams
