It takes time. They would have to show the devs the benefit of the One's DRM policy which would have led to less used game sales.

No way they could have committed to it out of the box without knowing 100% what the numbers would do and if those numbers would have been enough to get publishers on board.

I don't see why anyone thought this would all happen overnight.

I don't expect anything to happen over night, or for the next couple years, but if they were able to explain their thought process a bit it would have gone a long way to decrease the public outcry.

Instead it was just, we have DRM, you have to connect every 24 hours, games must be installed on consoles, all while Sony is sitting back saying, well we aren't changing any of the things you love about consoles and we're also 100 bucks cheaper.
