Baseball is a funny sport. It would not surprise me at all if Stevenson hit ~.290 next year and Laird dropped off. You never know. That said, Laird was amazing at the end of the year.
It won't surprise me at all if Laird hits .330 with OBP .500 or better. With experience, maturation, and his speed he is legit if he doesn't try to become something that he is not.

Moore had a couple clutch hits this year, but it's not like he hit EXTREMELY well at .281 with 0 homers (96 AB). He also is a little shaky in the field. Definitely doesnt belong at 3rd base, could very well play 1st but had an error or two there IIRC.
I agree, the leather hasn't been great and if he was capable of hitting consistently well he would have been the DH.

Laird was the most improved player on the team this year (from start to finish) IMO.
He started off fine against our OOC schedule, then when SEC pitching came around fell like a rock...but by the end of the season he raised his average all the way back up over .300 hitting the best part of the schedule consistently. I'm excited for him next season and think he's our starting CF.

I would say anyone with an OBP over .500 would be surprising.

Yeah .500 OBP is just absurd. Tops on the team this year was Katz at .464 and he hit .370 with an crapload of walks.

The rant says he has 1st rd talent but the MLB draft says late 3rd.

Moore has also caught a few games as well. If Barash or Chinea don't work out, along with the incoming freshman, then Moore is a possibility as well

Tyler Moore won't be catching next year.

Are we losing our hitting coach?

Aspirational, brah, aspirational. 14 teams had .400 or better OBP this season. See, I am the exact opposite of a poster saying he will fall by the wayside next season.

Never said he would. Saying he is behind those other guys but he has caught before.
Things happen. No one Stephenson starting towards the end of the season in the outfield in the CWS at the beginning of the season.
Again not saying that he is #1 for the spot, cause he isn't. Just saying that he has caught a few games
