If I remember correctly, it was another "not impressive" win by a coach that just benefitted from having an all-star team pieced together.

Now he's viewed as a hot commodity and one of the best coaches in the NBA.

What changed really? Was it getting back to the finals a second time and taking the Lakers to the brink?

You don't remember correctly. He was praised alone for his use of the African phrase Mbutu (sp) and they were always showing clips of his locker room and huddle speeches. He got a ton of praise.

You are right. A lot of people thought he was piggy backing with talent. It wasn't until he started making runs with a bunch of old guys that he gained respect.

I remember in the media he was praised a bit, but on message boards like this and espn.com comments I don't remember the love.

FWIW I do think he's one of the best coaches. He could shite on a kleenex and convince his players to eat it. Definitely one of the best coaches in the NBA when it comes to getting his players to respect him and buy into his system.

I dont know but the clippers are arguably the dumbest team in sports right now

So they won't give up a 2015 or 2016 first round pick, probably in the late 20s, to get KG, DOC, CP3 to resign with you, and maybe Pierce in a month..smart, real smart. They had the chance to bury the Lakers, steal LA from them, and keep the cast together with a good coach to make a run for a few years...but NOPE, don't want to give up that 24th pick in 2016..he could be a star. Unreal . I hope CP3 leaves them now and they have no one to blame but themselves.

deandre jordan will never be a championship player...hes a baffoon
