Just purchased 1.3 acres that has a pond on it. The whole property needed some TLC so I spent all weekend working on my land. I'm at the point where I need to clean up the pond water. I spent 5 hours weed eating around it.

I purchased some Lime to sprinkle in the pond (idk why but I've seen my dad and grandfather do this. I think it changes the PH levels of the pond and cleans up the bottom a bit)

What can I use to clean up the water and make it a tad bit more clear? I haven't been able to go out in the water just yet and measure the depth. Let's just say it's 10-12 ft. It also has a zipline

TIA OB

You did well changing title to include NASCAR.

He's the resident pond expert but the presence of the zip line may throw off his calculations.

Congrats buddy glad you finally got to close the deal.

Gonna have to come by and scope the place when I'm back in town.

I know lime keeps snakes out of yards so maybe that's why k-dog did this. Not sure though.

Got a pic of the water? Our pond in Clinton could never clear up and we had LSU professors/students working on it for years.

adding the lime will increase the pH. i'd send a water sample to LSU or something. they can recommend a path

BTW.
This was before I moved back around y'all so I'm sure they can do a little more now than they could back then.

Is the zipline sturdy? I mean, can I hang on with one arm and fire a gun as I'm going across?

We had a pretty serious rattle snake problem at my Mississippi camp. Keep grass cut and plenty of moth balls and the snakes have found a new place to live.

find out the phosphorus levels. that will be a key factor in lake clarity
