You're probably right. If the audio did get released and it is as bad as the OP claimed, then I would definitely expect them to get fired. But since none of us will actually hear it, it looks like all we'll get is a stupid apology.

Even then they wouldn't get fired, especially since it will generate ratings for them. They would really have to cross a line and unfortunately making fun of disabilities/disease isn't that line.
Had he been gay and they mocked him, then they may get fired because the LBGT community would get behind the cause and they would have power in numbers.
