one could also argue if they were really good at their jobs and had the ratings they probably get away with a slap on the wrists. If you're not very good at your job and you're doing things to create headaches for your employer, well then you become expendable

Or if you do get fired you land on your feet like Imus or Stern. If these dudes suck at their jobs then they won't. Either way I'm not crying for them.

Just because they are falcons I don't think it deserved a firing.

Not only are you a troll, but you're a dishonest one. No one here suggested they get fired for being Falcons fans. In fact a number of Saints fans including myself have gone out of my way to say I don't believe these losers represent Falcons fans or their organization, even calling the Falcons and Blank a class organization. Hell, even the Falcons fans here wanted them canned. If only we were all as enlightened as you are.

And we have the right to get upset

If you are genuinely upset then I can only surmise that you are emotionally retarded, have way too much time on your hands, both, or there is the off chance ALS or similar disabilities or life threatening illnesses have directly impacted you. I'm doubting it is #4 since you keep, framing your outrage around the fact that you're a saints fan.

Houston radio (97.5 the blitz) just played the audio. Even they're saying they crossed the line and they're known for pushing the envelope.

I believe in free speech. I think people should have thick skin. But there are limits. Attacking or making light of the terminally ill, who are trying to be an uplifting positive force, is beyond the pail. It's not like making fun of somebody for their religious belief...or their skin color....or their dialect, weight or ancestry. These people are dying, and their loved ones are suffering while this horrible process occurs. THEY shouldn't be subjected to this type of crap. I suspect Steve Gleason wasn't bothered by this one bit...because he, by all accounts, is a positive uplifting force who uses humor to teach about his circumstances. He can laugh at himself because he is at peace with it all. (Brilliant SI article, by the way) But those around him who love him are hurting terribly and they are the reason this was so outside the line. They have no control over it and don't deserve to have to listen to their loved one get ridiculed for something he can't help, and something they know will eventually take him from them. It isn't right. Anybody with a soul, or at least a sense of decency, can see this in my opinion.

I was in Gifted/Talented in elementary/junior high...last few years in the program my teacher was Susan Gillan. My parents pulled me from the program and it was three years before I saw Ms. Gillan again. When I walked into her classroom I almost didn't recognize her b/c she had the walking braces/canes on her arms. She had been stricken by ALS. She died in my senior year of HS. I owed her a debt of gratitude for helping me learn about myself. Real good friends with her daughter and saw how much of a strain it was on her and her family.

frick those dumb bastards and getting fired should be just the BEGINNING of their karmatic experience!

I find that pretty reasonable, but South Park would have been cancelled 100 times over by now if held to this standard. Gilbert gottfried would be eating soup in a shelter for sure. I like artists, musicians, comedians and entertainers to push the limit, be willing to try anything. But I guess that's why I have HBO and Sirius

Wouldn't be surprised if Blank and the Falcons organization put pressure on 790 to fire them

I wonder when the radio contract is up for re-negotiation
