OK, so 10 groups of 4 each. Tops in each group go through to a two-leg playoff.
One matchday left, but five sides have advanced as of today:
Algeria
Ivory Coast
Tunisia
Egypt (coached by Skeletor)
Ethiopia (The frick?)
Three more teams will qualify for the full dance on Tuesday after the completion of Asian qualifying. Japan already through.

The 5 remaining groups all are somewhat interesting, there are 4 groups with 2 teams still alive and the 2 teams play each other in all 4. One group has 3 teams still with a chance.
Group D: Ghana and Zambia play each other in the final game, Ghana has 12 points to Zambia's 11. Zambia won last year's ACON and Ghana has qualified for the last 2 WCs, so it will be interesting to see which side advances.
Group E: Congo (10), Burkina Faso (9), and Gabon (7) are all still alive. Burkina Faso and Gabon play on the final day and Congo plays Niger who are in last. Burkina Faso were the runners up in this year's ACON, where as Congo hasn't even qualified in this century, but Congo seems to have the best chance to advance.
Group F: Nigeria (9) hosts Malawi (7) on the final day, Malawi needs a win to advance.
Group I: Libya (9) plays in Cameroon (7), Libya won 2-1 in the previous meeting in qualifying.
Group J: Senegal (9) hosts Uganda (8). Uganda needs to win to advance.

Rooting for all underdogs. Hope Ghana and Senegal don't qualify

Also, that is a horrible way to decide five spots. Only one team advances from each group to the playoffs and one from each playoff to the WC. So if a team gets a bad draw, like Morocco with Ivory Coast, there is no other way through.

Eh, their women are the most beautiful in Africa. Lighten up, Francis.

Ethiopia is actually being investigated for possibly using an ineligible player in the win at Botswana earlier this year.
However, that would still mean they are in the driver's seat, but it would give South Africa renewed hope of advancing.
