Is he trying to be funny or just a huge a-hole?

Pop is a huge a-hole....and it is hilarious.

Yeah, everyone in the game thread was eating it up. I love their squad, but his schtick is tired. If you don't want to talk, then don't talk.

During the regular season it's a little bit of both I think.
He doesn't even try to hide his disdain for the media during the Finals though

Well, he's kinda obligated to do the interviews. So he doesn't really have much of a choice.

Why do they keep interviewing him in game

This. I loved it last night when Doris Burke asked what are they doing to stop the Heat and Pop goes I'm not gonna answer that.

Mandatory by the nba. Started in 2009 I believe.

I almost choked last night I was laughing so hard at "I can't tell you that."
He and Stan Van Gundy were the absolute masters at making courtside reporters feel stupid. I'd hate to interview either of them if I was one.
I remember watching a Heat/Magic game pre-Lebron, and it was a close, high-scoring game. At the end of the first quarter, one of the female reporters asked him: "Coach, your offense scored 30 points in the quarter, but how can you slow down Dwyane Wade?"
SVG: "I don't know"

Most of the answers seem to be honest answers

i don't think it's so much being an a-hole as it is just really not wanting to deal with it. SI did a really good profile on him a month or so ago.

He is at his best when he is actually not upset and just fricking with the interviewer
