Production was working to get Dan out, going as far as to pull Ian in to DR that week and convincing him not to use the second veto he was holding so Dan would be voted out. The reason Dan's talk to Frank worked is Frank allowed his emotions to control his actions and without Boogie there to control him Dan was able to play on that.

Why would production want one of the most liked players in the game's history out? Just doesn't make sense.
