i'm a big believer in not re-inventing the wheel, take their idea, make it better... profit.

you'd probably make more money if you didn't post so much also.

tutoring has to be the way to go. i tutored a kid in 7th grade math my entire second year of law school and make 50 bucks for one hour's work. easiest thing i've ever done.

would she be willing to make the drive over to new orleans for a 20ish hour per week job?

i'm serious for 3 months uplug from the internet, tv, magazines anything and just carry around a pad and write down any ideas of anything you have ever thought of to make money and nightly organize your thoughts, at the end of the 3 months follow up on ever lead you wrote down and don't stop still each idea is exhausted. profit.

all this media we consume these days, screws with our clarity, sometimes you have to do a hard reset.

Part time at the mall at a place like Williams Sonoma or something like that.

Can work during the day and get fat discounts on all kinds of shite.

A lot of insurance companies will offer part-time contracts. I know for a fact that Primerica does (but they're kind of a sketchy company). She can certainly make some good money with no fixed hours. She'll have to get her insurance license though.

We live in a similar household. My wife is a dental hygienist, but she quit when we had our first child. Now, she makes clothes and sells them on etsy. There are months where she makes almost as much as me.

We have also been doing a little picking here lately. We go to garage sales, buy stuff, and re-sell them for a profit. There are a lot of thrift shops where you can pay for a booth rental and sell your stuff. It's actually pretty fun.

If all else fails... She might just have to go back to work (a real job). Your kids might just have to go to after school care. It sucks, because if you're like me, I love having my wife at home with the kids.

Good luck to you! I know exactly how you feel.

Yeah, I posted this earlier:

Problem is, the hrs she would be tutoring (3-6 or 7PM) is when OUR kids need her to help with homework (a ridiculous amt.), projects etc.

None of this makes sense. Lol.

Dude get her to get a real job making 30k+. Pay a babysitter or daycare.

I'm not understanding why she isn't working and y'all need money lol.

LoL! Because we have 3 in school and 2 still at home.LOL
Because we believe that kids with mothers who stay home are better formed than kids raised by strangers. LOL!
LOL
We are just kooky like that. LOL!!!!

The point of the thread is to avoid the scenario you're talking about. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the mostly intelligent suggestions. I really appreciate it.

You're insecure.

You're still raising your kids. 2 kids at home means you pay less for daycare during the day. 3 at school means you pay a babysitter from 3-5. 20$ a day = nothing.

Do what you want though; your life, your world.
