The PS3 has offered games digitally for over a year
I bought last years NCAA Football and NHL digitally, and preordered the digital copy for The Last of Us just the other day.
Most games aren't worth $60 though, they'll never be $39.99 which would be perfect.

The 360 has had digital game downloads for much longer than a year but new games were not available the day they were released. This will be the case with the Xb1. Did the PS3 offer games online the same day they were released?
