Athlon picks LSU to finish 3rd in SEC West

I saw today in an Athlon college football preview magazine that the Athlon sportswriters have picked LSU to finish 3rd in the SEC West behind A&M and Bama. I think the main reason is because of LSU's youth and having lost so many guys to the pros. I know a lot of guys will need to step up this year, and it can be a great season if LSU can avoid injuries and play to their potential.

I think the main reason is they expect both Bama and A&M to be really good next year. And they might.

I definitely feel that LSU is capable of winning the West, despite what the magazine says lol, it's just obviously the sports media feels that LSU has a lot to prove u know?

Absolutely agree with that as well. LSU has a lot to prove (an rightfully so I would say). Hopefully they prove em wrong!

We lose players every year to the draft. This is no diff. If the oline is good, we are winning the west.

Redstick, obviously they went more in-depth in their analysis than that lol. But that is one of the key reasons, and that LSU as a team is full of underclassmen. It helps that Mett has had a full year of experience and has shown a lot of potential, and if Alfred Blue can stay healthy, he can be a dynamic back to go along with Hilliard and possibly Hill.
The writers had high praise for Rasco and Hunter on the D Line and then were touting Brazil as an all-around awesome player, so there's some guys who can step in and make names for themselves

Not surprised. Media believes all the JFF hype and swallows for Saban. Many actually think the Bears will finish ahead of us because of all their overhyped untested Freshmen. We got this! We play better angry and disrespected.

We went 13-1 last time people were saying we lost too much. When will people learn that we reload? If you keep up with recruiting you'd know that the classes have been getting better or just as good as the last.
We got a haul of LB's 2 years ago that will dominate. The lbs have been considered the weakest link for a while. Not to mention all te young studs we got. Both of the mills' will fricking own. They were thrown to the wolves early last year but held their own. Our DBs will be good. Our dline will be good despite what people think. We have so much raw talent on the dline and a lot guys fighting for spots.
People who don't pay attention To recruiting look at who we lost and think well suck but don't realize that the guys coming in behind them are just as good with a chance to be better.
