This episode was heartbreaking. Poor Sally.
Just as I thought Don was doing something out of total kindness (doing it completely for the kid because of Don's own experiences in Korea) we realize, no of course not, he can't be that compassionate. He has to have an ulterior motive and take advantage of the opportunity. Must be why he is so great as an ad man.
It will be interesting to see where this situation takes the series. Don has always been in control even at his lowest moments, but the look on his face at the end screamed "I am totally fricked this time." Sally was one of the last people in the world that wasn't aware of how much he really sucks.
If that is the end of the Bob Benson mystique that will be disappointing. I thought the scene with him showing his hand was a bit forced. That scene might have felt disingenuous on purpose though. He could still be a complete opportunist and thought Pete was giving signals. It is time for us to get a real look at Benson though and show him out of the office.
Oh, and Kiernan Shipka is amazing. She owns every scene she appears in.
Also, does anyone think Megan could be cheating on Don as well? The way she answered the question from Sally's friend about the agent was a little suspicious I thought. At the least, she might be up to something.
