I don't think people realize how truly gifted FM was vocally. Obviously people think of the insane live power ballads, but when he wanted to, he could sing anything on this planet and it would sound right.

Buddy Rich would tell Dee Dee Ramone to get the frick out.

I'm not saying Dee Dee wasn't great at what he did, but Buddy was an narcissistic genius with zero patience for any musicians which were not first rate in his eyes. He would not see Dee Dee as an equal.
