I prefer tlitf as well but I believe that P&L is the "better" song

Gotcha. Well in that case. I stick by Seven Spanish Angels. Fits all the criteria you laid out, but I personally enjoy it more. Very simple lyrics, with great imagery in its story. The 2 contrasting voices of Willie and Ray compliment each other perfectly. A nd the music is understated, yet effective. I prefer the studio version rather than the popular live recording personally.
