Covington at number 8

That program is a complete clusterfrick right now. The principal fired Malter Scobel after spring practice, who was doing a great job of keeping the athletes at Covington and away from St Paul's. Then the principal goes the good ole white boy network route and hires Greg Salter because the stadium is named after his grandfather. The same Greg Salter who was on Scobel's coaching staff the whole time trying to sabotage Scobel so that he could get the job for himself. (Scobel wanted to but couldn't get rid of him because his last name was Salter) Meanwhile the hiring of Salter alienated the Covington black community, one of the main reasons Brumfield left. Salter then hired his brother to be his DC. Between the two Salters neither has ever been a coordinator (except at the junior high level). Salter will more than likely be installing a new offense and defense this August. And NOLA still ranks them #8 just because they have McDowell and a few other players.

There is no way Covington beats St Paul's and Mandeville this year. They might get lucky and catch some breaks and beat one of the two but no way they beat both. Guy Lecompte's offense vs. an inexperienced Covington coaching staff. :rotflmao:
