Dead trees south of S'port?

Anybody know what's the cause of all the dead looking trees along I-49 at the Caddo/Desoto Parish line?
I passed thru this week and it looked like a drought condition, but I know there's been tons of rain. Then just a little ways up the road, everything was lush and green again.

I don't think there are any near there. It was right next to Wallace Lake.

Might have been. I didn't know hail could damage trees that badly, but it seems to make sense.
When I left, I took Linwood down to Stonewall and people had blue tarps on almost every roof and trees were down like a tornado came through.

That hail storm was pretty bad. That's the thought when I saw them Tuesday. Also that tornado passed in that area as well.

Hail storm and high winds/maybe tornados a few weeks back killed all of those trees. Its unreal to look at.

This is the spot where the dead trees remain, about 10 minutes after the storm moved out.

Damn, that was some bad shite. I didn't hear much about it, but I've been out of town a lot lately. I must have been gone.

Yea, a lot of damage. My sister lives in Stonewall right off of 49 and think they just missed it. Want to say it was bout 2 weeks ago now.

That makes sense. I was out in west Texas hog hunting. Was that the same storm with tornadoes south of Dallas?

When that storm blew through it took leaves and bark off all those trees by Wallace lake (the two bridges you pass right there) and the poles down that highline were completely destroyed. It took me 30 minutes to get through that area on my way home that day.

What they said. I watched it go through with nothing but some sprinkles. Was a tight, hyper violent little super cell.
