This excites me a lot, you could tell that the players just weren't all that excited to play because it was clear Spags system wasn't a fit.

Even if the defense still sucks, I expect it to get back to GW style where they at least get enough TOs and stop to win games. The switch to more man over zone will help this as our secondary is designed for that, hoping the 3-4 change will then bring more sacks which I think it will.

Well at the minimum it will prep our OL for all kinds of exotic crap of teams trying to get to Brees

yeah, I guess he didn't have that aggressive mentality that they had become used to???

he ran more of a read-and-react 4-3 defense where as GW had run more of an attacking style. So it seems like Ryan wants to get back to that and throw in some new wrinkles along the way...


believe it or not, the defense collected a decent amount of turnovers last year. They finished #12 in takeaways but since they were bad in every other facet, it was overlooked.
