Kind of sad. It's weird to think about that era and all of humanity at war.

I couldn't imagine living through that time. Think about how scary that had to have been...Nazi's taking over all of Europe and developing a war machine to control all of the continent...mass genocide of Jewish people, Hitler declaring the 3rd Reich to last 10 thousand years. If you read Revelations in the Bible...the prediction of the end of the world is very close to what the Nazi's tried to accomplish.
I especially couldn't imagine fighting in that war...people lose sight of how costly that war was and how bloody it was. Millions of people were killed, entire developed countries laid to ruin, Japan was freaking nuked.
Imagine being a 21 yr old soldier storming Normandy beach facing 50 cal machine guns on a cliff mowing down your fellow comrades. Imagine seeing for the first time German submarines, advanced weaponry, organized airstrikes, chemical warfare. The german scientists experimenting on live humans.
The men that fought for our country in that war deserve the utmost respect. That is a type of war that never needs to happen again.

Our generation doesnt value our freedom enough to go fight and die in a war.
Very similar to the citizens of paris during ww2. Entitled, never worked for anything, and feel like they have nothing to lose since they have no sense of pride for something they worked to gain
