Anyone know a place or someone that can repair a TM in very short order? Like have it back to me on Thursday? I'm going to start calling around in a few but the OB usually delivers.

I would guess that it will be tough to find that short if turn around, especially with it being the start of prime fishing. The only place I have been was in Abita springs, but I would not recommend them because they kept the boat for over a month.

I've got the knowledge and capability to make repairs to trolling motors. All depends on what kind and what it's doing as to the turnaround time.

The Trolling Motor Shop in Baton Rouge. Expect 5-7 days for the repair, and prepare your anus for the bill.

Evidently they have some kind of deal with MinnKota and MotorGuide, where the dealers won't let anyone else work on them. My old man fishes 6 days a week, and tears a trolling motor up about once every 3 months. He keeps bitching about the Trolling Motor Shop's prices, but he keeps going there. Knowing how tight he is with money, the only reason he goes there has to be because there is no other place.

He's got me out of a bind a couple times, so continue to use him. Plus he's not that far from house.

Sorry guys. Busy getting back to work. It is getting voltage at wires near the control. But is is not turning. It worked fine Sunday night. Monday am, it would not turn on after a pretty rough ride out.

ETA:-- it is only about a year old. 24 volt SW series Motorguide

Just talked to Ken. They can't guarantee anything before Thursday. MJ2--see my post above for TM info

Isn't there a guy in Gonzales that does them out of his house?

Great White 82 lb thrust. 24 V. No remote. Simple ole hand control. I replaced all plugs (male and female) just a month ago. Volt meter says it is getting 24 volts just below the control unit when bigfoot is depressed. something inside of the power unit is fricked.

ok.Yeah the circuit board in the head unit probably has shorted out. I had several like that and always had circuit board problems.

I've never seen a switch on the side.
