Just saw a piece on nba tv where chris webber, bill walton, and some others called him the greatest could've been in league history.

I don't get it....he played 7 full seasons before his whole flag fiasco and getting dealt to the kings....averaged 3.5 assists per game over his career, hit ft well, nice scorer.

I don't get why such a big deal is made about him, he was a nice college scorer who never even averaged 20 ppg in the NBA.

To me the greatest could've been would be like Len Bias or Brandon Roy or Tmac never getting hurt not abdul rauf

I'm old enough to have seen CJ in person. He was beyond sick in college. Handles, quickness, sharpshooting, ultra-fast release ... he was miles ahead of everyone else in college

If I'm not mistaken, he also had difficulty because of Tourette's and his nutrition /fasting (religion).

Also a coach change in Denver and one coach who was a Robert pack fan. Not looking it up, but I think that was who he split some time with during an early career playoff run in Denver.

Well I'm glad he didn't end up like Bias.

I think Tourettes wore him down.

He didn't have that head tic in college, but it got pretty bad in the NBA.

CJ was a one man show and took down UNLV.

I used to imitate his head tic in the driveway as a kid.

I saw Jackson live, and he is the best college player I've seen.

Gathers was the 2nd best I saw

I've never seen someone go from dribbling between the legs to pulling up for a long J faster than he could. It was Matrix-type speed

There's highlights from the Florida game on Youtube where he did that like every other possession. Dale gave him Loyola Marymount-like greenlight.

whoever laughed at my suggestion of Tmac or Brandon Roy is ridiculous.

Tmac barely turned 34 this year and hasn't been relevant since 2007 the last time he averaged over 20 ppg. So his insane NBA career that has led him to 18k total pts basically has been nothing since he was 27 years old. The guy played with some crappy talent his entire career except for a few years with vince carter and whenever yao was healthy which was never. Unbelievable athlete and scorer, not as efficient as durant but much better passer.Tmac WAS ALWAYS BITTEN BY INJURIES, HE NEVER PLAYED 80 GAMES FOR GOD SAKE.

Brandon Roy was flat out the truth its sad what happened with his knees, he was the next big thing in the league probably right there with durant and melo as the superstar right behind lebron. He just did it all while being so efficient. Brandon Roy could have been a hall of famer
