you want to be seeded 1-8 because you are sure to host a SUPER regional
if you are just one one the other host 9-16 - you win you will likely travel for the supers unless the original 1-8 you were matched against loses
1-8 gives you home field advantage to omaha
several years ago rice was a 1-8 & lost to a&m 7 instead of having to travel to houston - we got the host & a & m came to us
