Why do people say seed 1-8 don't matter?

Wouldn't you expect the number 1 team to be significantly better then the number 8 team?
I don't have to expect. I am pretty sure there are 2 or 3 teams a little better then the rest no? The 7 and 8 seeds to have a harder game in Omaha? (Considering all seeds make it)

yes but matchups are based on geographics...not seeds.

They don't seed the tournament by 1 v 16, 2 v 15 etc.
However, the confidence that being #1 would give you can't hurt.

By the time you get to Omaha, all the teams are really good.
For example, if the likely #1 Vandy played a possible #8 NC State in the opener in Omaha, there's no telling who would win that game. I'd almost go as far to say that NC State would be favored due to Rodon getting the nod as a lefty against all of Vandy's lefties. I know the Commodores would likely counter with Beede or Zzzzzemck (don't care how to spell his name).
All teams in Omaha will have a sure fire stud ace and the opening games will rarely favor one team drastically over the other except if Cinderella comes a knockin.

Regionals still don't matter much

It doesn't matter because only 4 or 5 national seeds make it to Omaha every year on average, so you don't know who you will face at that point. The 8 seed might have an easier Omaha matchup than the 2 seed
